Irish Terrier Club of New York Challenge Trophies

Each year, at our annual specialty show, the ITCNY awards to the Best of Breed, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite winners, highly prized trophies called Challenge trophies. The names of the winners are affixed to the trophy for posterity. There are very specific rules governing the retirement of each one. If a challenge trophy is retired, the winner may chose to re-offer it. This has happened a number of times and as a result, many of these trophies are quite old.
